right now we're getting a look at the damage left behind by sandy. right now president obama will tour the damage in new jersey. the storm is to blame for at least 50 deaths, including one in anne arundel koicounty, one montgomery county. sandy is shaping up to be one of the costliest natural disasters in american history. it's estimated to be $20 billion in property damage and another $30 billion in lost business. >>> right now crews continue to work around the clock to restore power to thousands of residents. dominion virginia has more than 33,000 customers still in the dark. pepco is working to get the lights on for more than 1,500 customers. and bge has 24,000 customers in our region without power. more than 22,000 of them are in anne arundel county. >>> it is back to work and school for most folks in our area. the federal government and local jurisdictions are back up this morning, as are most public schools in the area. there are some exceptions to that, though. in virginia manassas park city schools are closed. there are two-hour delays in culpeper, frederick, fauquier, and

. that's coming in promptly at 5:00 this morning. right now i can tell you it is a very powerful storm. what happened is a nor'easter merged with a hurricane and the center of low pressure could drop to levels we have never seen before. this could go down and the most intense storm to ever impact the eastern seaboard. this is a live look at new jersey. you can see we have the very, very strong waves crashing into the coastline. we're expecting landfall somewhere along the new jersey coastline as we get into this afternoon into tonight so we'll continue to track that for you. locally it's a whole other scenario. it's going to be very mild here today. temperatures in the 50s. as we head throughout this afternoon we're only expecting the 70s, and low 80s inland. we'll track what's happening with sandy as we progress through the morning. let's look at how your drive is shaping up with mike. >> definitely by comparison this is no sandy but it is an issue for the pans for the peninsula. the flashing light in the middle shows you construction pushing you over toward the right heading toward e

the screen that you see, where we were at at that time. since that time, we moved the platforms to the northern side of the train box. and modified the shape of the train box slightly to eliminate some conflicts with existing development. but, we are going to be able to support cal train and high speed rails operations in this configuration. the rail concourse level actually has gone through even more comprehensive refinement with the train box extension, we have now moved program support spaces for high speed rail and cal train from the west end of the station to the east end of the station over this time period, the operators came to realize that they would need to have a paid passenger boundary, so we have modified and relocated the bicycle program and some of the other programs at the rail level or the rail concourse level. the changes coming out of the discussions with high speed rail also had an impact on the bus ramps and you have seen an update on this before, but just wanted to remind how the modification and the radius coming from second street into the station had impact
